Just a quick post this morning before heading out today for a mini-roadtrip for a wedding. It's still chilly outside so two good photos was all we got before I wimped out and put my coat right back on. I'm this close to move to Florida. And by Florida, I mean Disney World.
Two other ways I've remixed this top, which is quickly becoming a closet staple of mine.
This skirt is easily becoming one of my favorite pieces to wear and remix. I feel elegant, maybe too elegant for my day job? But for my night job, it's perfect. (night job = style blogger, duh.)
I don't mean to sound like Ms. Zoe but this week is bananas. If I forget to post this week, apologies in advance. Please know that I am not forgetting to get dressed.
I wore a very similar outfit to this a few weeks back. But since it wasn't a real outfit post and since today is my first day back to work since the holidays, I decided to have a re-do outfit. My brain only half works for a about a week after Christmas and then we have New Years Eve and it's another week before I can get back into the groove of things. I should have warned you before hand that I'll be checked out for a good two weeks. If I happen to wear two different pairs of shoes one day, leave me be. The holiday hangover is a strong one.
I snagged this coat at Anthropologie over Thanksgiving weekend for an insane price of $60. I promised Bryan that I would wrap it for Christmas but somehow in all of my wrapping, it just didn't get wrapped. I hate when that happens.
Technically this is my Christmas Eve outfit. (I may or may not plan holiday outfits many days in advance .) I decided to give it a trial run today. So far, so good. I might also give some eggnog a trial run as well. Just for good measure.
Yet another cozy outfit from the weekend. What is it about winter that makes me want to wrap up in big cozy sweaters lately? Oh. Yes, the cold weather.... good call.
I'll be out finishing (AKA starting) my christmas shopping today. I'm sure no one else will be out shopping, right? I should be able to find front row parks and just cruise down the aisles with no crowds. Procrastination always prevails.
I woke up today at 5 am for no apparent reason but I did have this outfit in mind and I remembered to pay a bill on time. Thanks subconscious but 5 am is a nasty time to wake someone up and tell them about an outfit.
I bought this sweater (yes, from myself, I'm that good of a salesman) this weekend and I've already worn it 3 times since. It's hard to go wrong with a neutral sweater. In other words, you won't mind if I wear this again this week will you? I didn't think so.
(Why yes, this is the skirt from the Fossil lookbook. Good catch there, hawk eyes.)
So I survived our first holiday weekend up at the store. (I know you were worried.) By the end of yesterday I was getting loopy from the consecutive 12 hour days. I was in bed by 7 last night, safe in my bed, away from the crowds of people, watching reruns of Sister Wives on TLC. Obviously the best way to relax after a long weekend.
Since we are closed on Mondays, today is technically my day off and this is my day off outfit. (Don't act like you don't get dolled up and put red lipstick on for your day off, too.) I'm usually in my workwear on the blog but I figured we might as well snap a few photos since I ended up getting dressed today. So just pretend I look as fancy as you today, ok?
I went into an Anthropologie this weekend to pick up some home decor items. What did I end up walking out with? This skirt, on mega-sale. See that's the problem. I get distracted by clothing and they know that. I went in for cute drawer knobs and come out with a skirt. If the majority of what they sold was food and there was a tiny rack of clothing for sale, I would probably forget that I was hungry. My drawers didn't really need those knobs anyways. But my closet definitely needed a new skirt. That's what I'm telling myself anyways.
I've had this dress for a while but haven't quite known how to style it. Mainly because it's t-shirt material and while t-shirts look good on my top half, they don't always look good on my bottom half. Really when I stretch any type of thin material from my top to my bottom, I'm going to feel iffy about it, especially when I eat or sit. Two of my favorite things to do. The solution: layers. I've put so many layers I bet you didn't even realize that there was a dress under there. So what did we learn today? When in doubt, layer.
The only time I've stolen something intentionally was when I was 6 years old. It was a 99 cent book of stickers and I of course got caught. Only because I wasn't sly yet, that came later in life, about third grade to be exact. (As did my swagger.) Anyways, I'm still not much of a thief unless it comes to outfits and then I have no mercy. Yesterday a girl breezed through the store and sans the scarf, this is her exact outfit. This might be the easiest outfit I've never thought up. Like stealing candy from a baby, which I did yesterday as well. It's just so easy.
So you've all seen this outfit, yes? Well I wept out of pure joy when I saw it because I've had this thrifted horse shirt for a while and wasn't quiet sure what to pair it with. This is why I love the internet. That and the fact that I can order Brants and no one has to know about it.
I'm feeling particularly Parisian in this outfit. May it be the high bun, the striped tee or my fake french accent, I'm feeling the Paris vibe. I'll probably eat lunch at Le Madeleine's today as well. It just feels right.
In other news, this weekend we opened bloom and it was so.much.fun. Which is good since I own the place. If I opened it and hated it, that wouldn't be a good sign for the next few years.
I'm a little behind this week. This outfit is actually from Monday. So by a little behind, I mean three days behind. Forgive me? You didn't miss much Tuesday or Wednesday as I pretty much wore the same uniform I've been wearing all week -- a v-neck, jeans and greasy hair. HOT. My greasy hair brings all the boys to the yard, trust me. Of course they are carrying shampoo, but still.
PS -- Thank you for sticking with me through the sporadic postings these last few weeks. Regular programming will return soon, promise.
